¹⁶ How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?^(A) What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”^(B)

¹⁴ But now your kingdom^(A) will not endure; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart^(B) and appointed^(C) him ruler^(D) of his people, because you have not kept^(E) the Lord’s command.”

³ Now let us make a covenant^(A) before our God to send away^(B) all these women and their children, in accordance with the counsel of my lord and of those who fear the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law.
